Scrum
Quick Definition
A lightweight Agile framework for developing, delivering, and sustaining complex products through iterative, incremental work cadences called Sprints.
Detailed Explanation
Scrum defines three accountabilities (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Developers), five events (Sprint, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective), and three artefacts (Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Increment).
Scrum is built on the empirical pillars of transparency, inspection, and adaptation. Work is done in time-boxed Sprints (typically 1–4 weeks) that produce a potentially shippable product Increment.
The Scrum Guide (scrumguides.org) is the definitive reference. CSM® (Certified ScrumMaster) and PSM (Professional Scrum Master) are the most common Scrum certifications.
