Product Owner

The Product Owner is the single person responsible for the Product Backlog — its content, availability, and ordering. They represent the voice of the customer and make value-based decisions about what to build next. Key activities include defining and communicating the Product Goal, creating and refining backlog items, prioritising based on business value, and accepting or rejecting completed work during Sprint Review. CSPO® (Certified Scrum Product Owner) from Scrum Alliance validates this role. In SAFe®, the Product Owner role operates at the team level, while the Product Manager operates at the programme level.
